I’ve got a thing for pink food. And pretty food too…is that weird?? It sure lifts an experience of eating into another level but also the rich vibrant colors tell us that we’re ingesting loads of plant based super healthy nutrients in the process.
Now seriously, back to that smoothie. My usual breakfast smoothies are made with either soaked oats or buckwheat, to get that nourishment and fuel I need for my energetic life style, but when I forget to soak any I use oat bran instead. It thickens the smoothie but it is also a great source of fibre and protein.

Ingredients
1 cup plant milk (used walnut)
2 tbsp oat bran
1 tsp maca
1 tsp baobab
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 pink grapefruit
1 small banana
Method
1. Blend all the ingredients in a high speed blender until very creamy
2. Add more liquid if needed
I didn’t sweeten it but you can add maple syrup, coconut sugar or dates.
If you like smoothies, here’s another yumy recipe.
