Chocolate Sesame Coconut Granola

January 29, 2016 by Maja ∣ Delicious & Healthy by Maya

Chocolate granola for breakfast? Well, it’s a must in our home. This big jar, let’s just say, doesn’t last long…two or three days tops! The combination with sesame and coconut chips, we all love it. I love having it with chia pudding or by itself, as a dessert or a snack. It will take you only half an hour to get the whole thing done, preparation and baking. So easy and totally fail safe. You just have to be careful not to burn it. I wrote basic rules how to make granola in Golden Granola post and believe me, it’s much easier than you think. I’m sure that after reading them you’ll get hang of how easy it actually is.

Chocolate Sesame Coconut Granola

Dry ingredients

3,5 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 cup silvered almonds or chopped whole almonds
2 tbsp coconut sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
5 tbsp cocoa powder

Wet ingredients

1/3-1/2 cup agave syrup
1/2 cup coconut oil
1 tbsp lemon juice

1/2 cup coconut chips

Method

1. Preheat the oven on 140 celsius
2. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl
3. Then add wet ingredients mixed together separately
4. Mix until everything’s evenly coated
5. Check for sweetness and add more syrup if needed
6. Spread on baking tray lined with parchment paper
7. Bake for about 15 minutes
8. Be careful not to burn it. Check and mix after about 6-7 minutes of baking
9. You will need to mix it a few times until done to get it to bake evenly
10. When it’s kind of dry and has a crunch to it, add coconut chips and bake for another 2 minutes
11. Let it cool down completely before storing in an airtight jar.

Just a great idea to make a granola. I haven’t make some for a while. To busy with other Food stuff. I also use coconut sugar in my kitchen. I bought coconut sugar syrup yesterday. Have you ever use it?

      Hi sweetie!

      Catching up here..
Thank you so much! Yes, noting like homemade granola. I never use store bought ones. Oh, I never used coconut sugar syrup… How was it? Did you try it yet?

      Hugs!
